Today I am counting all the incredible blessings that blow my way each day. As I sat down last night to write a list of things I am grateful for I realized my notepad was not big enough. Even though many days aren’t perfect, they are part of an imperfectly perfect life.
There were too many good things to count: loving and great family, fabulous friends, bad jokes, good food, warm sunny days, great food allergy and asthma friends, funny kids, soft pillows, air conditioning, comfy shoes… I have so much to be grateful for and am feeling the love and gratitude that I have for everyone, everything and all the special moments that are in my life.
SO….”thank you world for being so interesting, so amazing and for bringing me chocolate!”
I am celebrating the beginning of my 50th journey around the sun today and am kicking it off with my beloved grapefruit that will be followed up with chocolate cake for breakfast! I sure don’t feel 50, but then again, what is 50 suppose to feel like?

One of the hardest things I find about managing both life threatening food allergies and asthma is talking to others. I hate to be the one that might be perceived as demanding, pushing or for asking too much. What I now know, fourteen years later, is that honest, clear information presented with kindness works!..
Happy birthday!!!! Beautiful post. 🙂
Thanks Homa! I am feeling the love today! The family made me a special breakfast, so now I will have cake for breakfast dessert, sill gifts, poems and early morning accordion entertainment from my daughter…who does not play the accordion! Lots of fun!
