Where Do Bloggers, Food Allergy and Asthma Advocates Meet?

You are here: Home / Asthma - News / Where Do Bloggers, Food Allergy and Asthma Advocates Meet?

March 28, 2013 By //  by Caroline Moassessi 7 Comments

If you live in Reno, NV… at Soak Lounge!  Fellow Blogger, food allergy and asthma advocate, Lauren Klein, wanted to meet up to discuss some advocacy efforts as a two-for-one pedicure offer presented itself.  Needless to say, as mothers do ever so often, we decided to multitask our efforts and meet over  pedicures.  Could pedicures spark creativity?  Maybe.

Not only where we productive, but we walked away with fabulous looking toes and a nice warm cup of Bailey’s Coffee in our stomachs.  We worked on board building, advocacy packages and even squeezed in a discussion on the needs of teenagers.  Okay, we really complained about the evils of puberty!

Soak Bailey's coffeeOn a chilly March day, this was perfect!

I don’t know if it is just motherhood or managing a family with life threatening illness, but I was feeling quite proud of our multitasking abilities!  To be honest, my day was simply falling apart and as I was throwing in the towel, when Lauren called to discuss some issues and to announce the pedicure sale.  I won on all levels that day.  At Soak Lounge, your feet soak in water with marbles, little tea bags and then they even receive a foot mask!  Too much fun!

Soak tray of treatmentsA tray of all these darling little bowls of scrubs that smelled divine.  I’m sure there is a proper name and not little darling bowls…

Where were you when you did some of your finest brainstorming?  In the office?  In the shower?  Taking a walk?

p.s. Soak doesn’t know I blogged about them!  Well, after I show them this post they will, I enjoyed the sale price thanks to a gift card I received!  It was lovely!

That sounds like fun! I wish I could have joined you! The funniest place I brainstormed? Hmmm…I’d say on the phone with a colleague of mine while cleaning my kitchen hardwood floor. Not as sexy as yours…but it got the job done…both jobs that is! : )

Love it! Scrubbing! One day I was on a conference call, so I decided the clean out the bird cage and I dumped the water from the feeder into the toilet and flushed! Then I had to explain that I was cleaning out the bird cage. To make matters worse, I had stayed home since I had a stomach bug. Hum, think they believed me?

I wish I lived in NV!!!
Brainstorming is usually when I am lying in bed at night and can’t sleep but sometimes it’s just while I am driving and have a clear mind.

Oh Shannon, that was pure heaven! Thank you for moving your shop over to my end of town! I was just looking down at my toes thinking I need a return trip over to Soak. Keep up the good work. Sometimes us ladies need a special place we can melt away in!

Tools to consider for Eating Out

Eating out with Food Allergies can be quite challenging. For my family, we view eating out as a risk and we use a variety of tools to help us make educated choices.  Most importantly, if we get a gut feeling something isn’t right, we leave or my children don’t eat the item and we find safe options elsewhere...Eating out Tips - Know before you Go
