Game on in Nevada! We are ready to go and get this bill “heard” today in the Nevada Senate Health and Human Services Committee in room 2149 at 3:30pm (hint, hint if you live in Reno–join us?). Wow, the last 48 hours have been mind-blowing in preparing for SB453 Epinephrine in Schools Senate hearing. A friend texted today and explained that “I’m now learning how to make the sausage!” Love that analogy. He’s a quick-witted friend I must say. I am asking my online community for three things today…
I’m ready! I have my copy of the bill, two lucky paper bunnies, the EpiPen Auto-injector®trainer that my daughter will demo, my Greek Evil Eyes to ward off evil and stickers.
First, send us good joo-joo! I will be testifying and my nine-year old will demonstrate how easy it is to use an EpiPen Auto-injector®.
Second, send good thoughts to our legislators and key stakeholders that they are really listening and will help keep every single child in Nevada schools safer.
Third, take a moment and check out what is going on in your state. Do have similar laws and regulations in your state or county in place already? There are currently over 24 states working on epinephrine in schools laws right now!
My pal Rita whipped up these cool round stickers that we will wear on our clothing in support of SB453–both up in Carson City and in Las Vegas! I love those Las Vegas FAPE group and Food Allergy Walk types-they will be attending the hearing and testifying via video conferencing technology!

Good luck today! Great stickers and awesome to have your daughter helping out…that will get their attention and make you really stand out 😀

Leila made really darling coasters with her message on the back! I will post those next week! Getting ready to run down to the Capital for a meeting with Sen Smith, then back to Reno to pick up my kids! Good thing I bought a small gas savvy car this summer!

Good luck today. I think having your daughter there to demonstrate makes it much more real why you all are doing this.
May the senate hear your voices loud and clear!

Thanks Kathryn! I think the visual of a child, who has been carrying their own epinephrine since they were five, will help them understand this is one of the most easiest devices to you use!
