Got Lung Action?

You are here: Home / Asthma - News / Got Lung Action?

January 31, 2012 By //  by Caroline Moassessi 3 Comments

Can you type a note?  Dial your phone?  Convey a short message?  Perfect, then you can make a difference regarding lung health..or really anything you want to see improved (we’ll talk food allergy soon).   All you need is the path.  It is crazy easy to make a difference and I just found out about this method from my friends at the American Lung Association, and yes, they will confess in public to being my friends!  I am in full amazement of how simple it is to make things happen.  The hard part is finding the avenue to making things happen.  Luckily, the ying to our yangs are out there creating the paths for folks like you and me to do the short easy stuff.  So, you can get some Lung Action on!
I love lungsI wanted to share with you what I discovered:  The American Lung Association has created an Action Network where you sign up to join a group of folks like us across the nation.  You will receive email updates on the topics below and will receive direction or a call to action on related issues.  You’ll  receive information on advocating,  calling or emailing your representatives, signing a petition, etc.  In the last few years, I’ve watched up close and personal how several people making phones or emails make amazing positive change.
sliced pie
Think of it like a piece of pie and each of us is adding in a tiny little slice (a phone call, an email, etc.), soon enough we have a gorgeous full pie!  Here’s the deal, our representatives are just that too…they REPRESENT us.  They do their best to be great leaders but they can’t be kings and queens  of everything and they need us to let them know what, we the people, need and more importantly, why.  Therefore, the American Lung Association Action network could be a cool avenue of information and the path for us, the people of America, to communicate our needs.
Take a look at these topics and consider  signing up.  If you don’t like the program, then ask them to remove your name from their data base.  We don’t have much to lose and oh so much to gain!

  • Improved  access to health care (this one really gets me in a tizzy)

Here is an example of what you might receive:  Keep Cigars out of the Rose Bowl

[/button] Okay, so I’m still learning how to insert buttons into my blog so sorry about the BIG-RED-BUTTON for the Action Network.  On the bright side, you can’t miss it right?
I like the idea of picking and choosing where my energy and times goes and I have to say that I like the list of items provided to me by the Action Network.  Cigar smoking at the Rose Bowl doesn’t interest me as much as the Nevada Clean Indoor Air Act, so I’ll send an email on that one (plus much more since that is a hot topic to me).

Hope you have a beautiful day breathing in deeply-[typography font=”Lobster” size=”18″ size_format=”px”]Caroline[/typography]
