Last Minute Nut Free Easter Ideas

You are here: Home / Food Allergy Lifestyle / Last Minute Nut Free Easter Ideas

March 22, 2013 By //  by Caroline Moassessi 2 Comments

Yes, Easter is only 9 more days away and if you are like me, some years I am on it and other years forget it!  We are Greek Orthodox, we follow a different calendar so our Easter is still weeks away (I get to hit the post Easter sales-yippie).  In case you are looking for some last minute ideas and are willing to pay for the shipping or are thinking of picking something up local, then here are a few ideas that might inspire you…

  • Surf Sweets has a huge selection of items from Peanut Free Planet to Divvies, and even Vermont Nutfree!  They can do two day shipping too.
  • Sweet Alexiscan be found in many local stores too, just call 914 533 0333 to find out where.  Their caramel corn is off the hook tasty!
  • Divvies is another favorite that can be ordered online and in big quantities or can be found in Gimbals Fine Candies.  The Jelly Beans are a HUGE favorite!
  • local stores too in another Jelly bean and gummy kind of candy that reigns king in my family that can be found online and Surf Sweets.
  • I like to make Easter Baskets full of favorite treats…food and non-food.  So, my son loves in local storesright now, guess what he might be getting?  An Easter Basket full of Frozen Pizza!  Get creative!  Give some a healthy supply of something they love.  I would jump up and down for basket of new tea to try out.
  • My local BOLD Organics Pizza has a deal that if you spend $25 on Easter goodies, they will give you a personalized Easter Bucket and will wrap it up too!  I love this since they barely sell any candy and I was able to buy my daughter a huge amount of goodies and age appropriate games for my teenager too.
  • Toys!  Toys!  Toys! (I am worse than the kids)
  • An experience, such as an allergy and asthma safe picnic or going to the museum, etc.
[/unordered_list] As with any food item, always call the manufacturer to check for recipe or product changes and to ensure the food item is safe for you or your family.

Easter Basket of toysEaster Bucket from Learning Express , filled with great educational toys…and no candy with my daughter’s name painted on the back!

In my culture, we fast during Lent, so at the end of the Lent, a big basket of what ever we gave up is welcomed!  Last year I gave up thinking bad thoughts about people who irate me.  I’m famous for wishing unexpected flatulence on mean people.    I’m not sure how you would put that into a basket, but since I failed by day seven, I guess I didn’t deserve a basket anyway.  Let’s see if I can fare better this year during Lent?

Happy Nut Free, Dairy Free, Gluten Free and well any sort of Allergen Free Easter Shopping!  If you have any other wonderful ideas to share, please add them below in the comment section!

p.s.  None of the companies mentioned above know that I am blogging ideas that include them.  They might be reading this at the same time you are!  Have a great weekend.

Thank you for sharing. Fortunately, except me, no one else in my family including grandchildren have nut allergies.
