The Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) and the Food Allergy Iniative (FAI) have announced the new name for the organization that is being formed by merging these two world renown and respected food allergy research, education and advocacy organizations. The new name is FARE! The Merger is Complete!!!
“FARE’s mission is to ensure the safety and inclusion of all individuals with food allergies while relentlessly seeking a cure”. I personally adore this phrase used by FARE, “relentlessly seeking a cure”. The energy around FARE speaks right to me! Inclusion has been an issue that needs attention and I’m excited to see FARE including this (pun intended). Although, the words “relentlessly seeking a cure” just inspired me today.
FAAN emailed supporters today and shared this information:, “Through the end of 2012, you will continue to see the names FAAN and FAI on our events, public communications and websites. FARE will debut its new logo and website, which will be located at www.foodallergy.org, in early 2013. You can read more about today’s announcements in our press release and questions and answers page. We will continue to keep you informed of new developments at FARE by email, via social media and by posting information on our websites. We’re excited about our plans for FARE and look forward to sharing them with you.”
Last week I blogged about interviewing FARE’s new CEO John Lehr in, “Our New Food Allergy Fearless Leader: John Lehr.” Curious about who was heading our food allergy charge and taking us the next to level, I interviewed John Lehr and am now even more excited about our food allergy future and taking larger strides in finding therapies, a cure and increasing education. His energy was focused, high and committed as he explained the goal of the merger: One Voice. One Voice to finding our solutions and making positive change.
