Happy First Day of Spring!

You are here: Home / Food Allergy Lifestyle / Happy First Day of Spring!

March 20, 2013 By //  by Caroline Moassessi 6 Comments

This is one of my favorite days of the year for two reasons!  It is the first day of Spring, bringing rebirth and new life to plants, flowers and the wildlife of my community and that it is Norooz (Persian New Year).  My husband is Persian and his culture celebrates the New Year on the exact moment of the Vernal Equinox!  This is an important Holiday to our family and along with this comes the tradition of spring cleaning, so if you could see my house today, you’d be impressed!  I got down into cleaning out our ridiculous pencil drawer. Does one family truly need five pencil sharpeners?

FlowerMy sister in-law sent these beautiful flowers to us to help celebrate Persian New Year!

I hope you enjoy a beautiful and glorious first day of spring and may this new season (and New Year) bring you much health and happiness!

Nowruz Mubarak to you and yours! I always mean to do a little haft seen for the kids and run out of time. Maybe next year!

Happy New Year to you too! We could not make a haft seen since our crew is putting in a new heating/air system and the house is covered in dust and we can’t get to our box of Nowruz items!
Leila is making a paper haft seen right now since our table looks naked! I’ll take pictures.
