In an electrolyte tablet! Tired of sugary sports drinks full of dye, I thought I would explore other options while shopping at REI. I was pleased to find a nice selection and then shocked to find sesame seed oil in Gu Brew Electrolyte drink tablets. My son is extremely allergic to sesame seeds, so Gu Brew Electrolyte drink tablets are not an option. I will continue my quest to find dye free solutions.
Interestingly, the powdered electrolyte product did not list sesame oil as an ingredient. I’m assuming the oil helps form the tablet shape. I understand why a nut or seed ingredient would used, but I just didn’t expect it here.
…read all labels for food allergens and then read them again!
Have a great and safe weekend-Caroline

Hunt’s tomato sauce or paste has sesame oil, I remember thinking, “I’m so glad I read the label!” – sesame pops up so randomly, I think your find is the most random yet.

Hi Homa, I once found it in Chili sauce, but I agree, the sports drink was extremely random.
