Grab Your Phone Today! Cures Not Cuts

You are here: Home / Asthma - News / Grab Your Phone Today! Cures Not Cuts

February 20, 2013 By //  by Caroline Moassessi 4 Comments

Today, February 20th is National Call In Day!  Pick up your phone and urge Congress  to stop cuts to lung health programs at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA),  and to stop cuts for critical food allergy research National Institutes of Health (NIH), and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  As the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of American (AAFA) says, “Cures NOT Cuts”.  Join me and thousands of Americans, the American Lung Association and the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, in  making a fast call to your Congressional representatives to ask them to NOT LET OUR LUNGS or FOOD ALLERGY RESEARCH  fall off the FISCAL CLIFF!  Nope.  Not today.  We need our government to keep from making a grave mistake and just about three to five minutes from each of us can make a gigantic difference.
dialing number on cell phone
Here is all we need to do right now, today….
[unordered_list style=”bullet”]

  • Click on this link to find how to contact your Congressional representative:  American Lung Association
  • Grab your phone
  • Dial the number from above.  You will mostly speak to a staff member from your representative’s office.
  • Say, “please tell Representative (insert your rep’s name here)  to stop cuts to lung health programs at the Environmental Protection Agency,  and to stop cuts for critical food allergy research National Institutes of Health, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention”.
  • Feel good that you just made a difference.
  • Please share with your family and friends.  The more calls the better!
[/unordered_list] I am the change

Thanks for being part of the solution and change by Participating in the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America!  I hope you have a little skip in your step today as you enjoy the good deed you just created on behalf of our children and citizens.

p.s. In case you didn’t know, I am a passionate American Lung Association Volunteer!

I just made my call! It took 5 minutes, tops. I used this link from AAFA, which had talking points:

    It’s easy peasy lemon squeezy!

      Thanks Selena,
Where did you find the piece from AAFA? I know I saw it last week and then could not find it this morning! I stopped drinking tea and it is showing.

Tools to consider for Eating Out

Eating out with Food Allergies can be quite challenging. For my family, we view eating out as a risk and we use a variety of tools to help us make educated choices.  Most importantly, if we get a gut feeling something isn’t right, we leave or my children don’t eat the item and we find safe options elsewhere...Eating out Tips - Know before you Go
