Food Allergy Savings this week…

You are here: Home / Food Allergy Lifestyle / Food Allergy Savings this week…

February 17, 2012 By //  by Caroline Moassessi 4 Comments

In my quest to budget and teach my children budgeting, I try to focus on sales in our food allergy world.  When my son was first diagnosed with his enormous list of allergens, I spent whatever it took to keep him safe and nourished.  Well, that lead to eating octopus, filet Mignon and all sorts of other fabulously tasty and spendy items.  The prince still gets to enjoy those items, but I balance it with stocking up during sales, making homemade foods and better meal planning.  It’s actually sport to me now to see how low I can go with my spending!  Here are a few sites that are offering some decent discounts right now!

Save money on food allergy friendly foods

Gluten Free Pantry Mixes on sale too (I’m trying out the bread mix tomorrow

Peanut Free Planet has a few good ones going on until February 22!  They also offer a flat rate shipping of $8.99 or free shipping on orders over $100

Navan Foods boasts a clearance section and lets you know exactly how many items are left in stock too.

NoNuttin has a special offering free shipping PLUS 10% off your of $150 or more.  My local food allergy savvy friends and I like to order together to take advantage of this kind of offer!

Sometimes, I will pull together with one or two other families and we’ll order together to take advantage of special shipping offers, such as Peanut Free Planet and No Nottin!

I really didn’t think I could budget with food allergies, but now I am understanding I can budget and better yet…give my family incredibly wonderful food!  The secret silver lining to life with food allergies is that we are almost forced to eat well since we truly need to concentrate on what we eat.

Happy Shopping, budgeting and eating well-Caroline

I happened to be at the Raley’s off Robb Drive yesterday, and noticed they were discontinuing many of their Enjoy Life products. I grabbed every last package of our favorite Mountain Mambo trail mix, at $2.15 per large bag (normally around $6)! They still have cereals, etc, if anyone’s interested!
