I love coupons, I love samples and I love sales. To be honest, the Swag bags at the First Annual Food Allergy Blogger Conference (FABLOGCON) were amazing and mind boggling. I’ve discovered items that I would never have had access to before thanks to the samples. Also, thanks to vendors being present and providing samples and breakfast items, Attune Foods had me racing to Whole Foods Market to find cereal (think new recipes). I had just posted about my Pumpkin Spice Chocolate Covered Rice Krispie treats last week and I told a reader that I wasn’t sure about gluten free cocoa rice krispies. Like magic, guess what I tasted later that day from Erewhon? What I am trying to say to vendors is thank you for sharing your products to those of us who might not have the chance to find them!
I live in Reno, NV and due to open bins of nuts, my trips to Whole Foods Market have come to a dramatic slow down. My children no longer feel safe in the store so I am ordering more and more items online-which goes against my buy local belief.
Enjoy Life Foods provided a USB with contact data of all attendees!
Dear Vendors, thanks to your swag I…
[unordered_list style=”tick”]- am hooked on Enjoy Life Soft Baked Cookies
- expanded my pantry by three types of cereals of Erewhon
- had to stop my kids fighting over Skeeters Snacks cookies and Don’t Go Nuts individual packaging to share with friends
- made my daughter promise to NOT eat the whole jar of Don’t Go Nuts Chocolate Soybutter
- learned my daughter does want to wear an Allermates bracelet in addition to her Medic Alert Bracelet.
- applaud Sun Cups for using Rainforest Alliance Certified Farms ingredients
- am sad that didn’t taste gluten free O’Mission beer (darn, how did I miss that one)
- appreciated the extra copy of Allergic Living that I shared with a new food allergy parent last night
- am taking Epi Essentials information to my allergist’s office this morning
- plan on switching to an iPhone so I can download the Yodish dining app!
Yes, every attendee received a tee from Allergy Eats!

Totally agree. The vendors were spectacularly generous with samples and coupons, and food and wi-fi…How did you get the soybutter through security? The TSA agents must have had 15 jars of Don’t Go Nuts Chocolate Soybutter that they confiscated when I went through security! LOL
Caroline
Stephanie, I put the jar in my checked in bag! When I got home, I found the we’ve been through your luggage notice.
Nutrimom
So glad you had a great time and got lots of goodies! We too love Erowhon and also avoid Whole Foods for the open bins as well (you would think they would pick up on that!)
Caroline
I just ordered my cereal (the Cocoa Crispy one) from Amazon. I ran other there the other night sans kids and there was a brand new bin added in??!? How many bins of nuts do we really need?
Rachel
Those bags were spectacular!! I cannot believe how many awesome products I came home with! It was great meeting you, by the way 🙂 I enjoyed your session on advocacy as well-we’re so blessed to have you in our food allergy community!
Caroline
Thanks Rachel for the shout out! I happily used my Vegas Whole Foods bag and am going to share the Enjoy Life bag with some of their goodies with a gluten free pal tomorrow. She will be thrilled!!
I could not get over how heavy they were!
Okay, so I’m still cracking up over my statement about my daughter working the floor!
Epi-Essentials
FABulous swag bag! Agreed, we were also introduced to many new products that we didnt know existed. Thanks to ALL vendors for sharing product samples and to bloggers for sharing their perspective on the weekend!
Caroline
Epi Essentials–thanks for the cards, I brought them to my allergists office today! They were thrilled and thank you for the strap. My daughter is thrilled to have her purse back!
Lisa Rutter
So jealous!! I am whining over here.
Caroline
Lisa, will you feel better if I ate a Vermont Nut Free chocolate bar for you tonight? With tea?
Caroline
You were sooooooo missed!!!!!
