7 Life Changing Food Allergy and Asthma Resolutions

You are here: Home / Asthma - News / 7 Life Changing Food Allergy and Asthma Resolutions

December 30, 2013 By //  by Caroline Moassessi 8 Comments

2013 was an amazing year with new ideas, opportunities and concepts.  I felt like I was hanging on for dear life on some days.  I just realized that 2014 is not going to be any different, but this year, I’m putting on my seat belt, tucking my hair behind my ears and getting ready for one heck of a ride!  This year’s resolutions are about life changes, love and health!
trust your journey back side
I will be Trusting my Journey in 2014!
[unordered_list style=”star”]

  • Embrace Change.  I’m committing to embracing the new.  No more fighting new environments, doctor’s or discoveries.  Instead, bring ’em on!  I’ll then decide if they are good for me or my family.  In the past, I sometimes shunned new experiences since it is so much easier to stay with the routine and familiar.
  • Stay Healthy.  I commit to monthly family health reviews.  I want to review asthma action plans, healthy eating and sleep.  It’s sooo easy to let go of good health protocol.  Asthma takes hold of my house when we don’t sleep enough or eat well.  Processed foods just got kicked to curb (except for an occasional Cheeto).
  • Be Prepared.  We will practice at the first of each month with our EpiPens® and Auvi-Q® trainers in addition to reviewing Emergency Action Plans and discussing when to use epinephrine.
  • Delegate Safety Rules.  It’s time for my kids to start calling manufacturers and restaurants to ask about cross contact.  I will follow up with the same phone call and then we’ll compare notes.
  • No Guilt.  We will consciously discuss letting go guilt about forgetting EpiPens® or inhalers at home or about making poor or risky choices.  Accidents happen and it’s all about what we learn about them and how we recover.
  • Love Ourselves.  On the heels of forgiving ourselves for food allergy and/or asthma “oops” we will pause to love on ourselves and take a break when needed.  We’ll acknowledge that sometimes it is just really tough to live with a life threatening disease and sometimes we just need an extra hug, a breath of fresh air or words of encouragement.
  • Let Others In.  There is a massive, beautiful and lovely food allergy and asthma community out there ready to listen, offer support or share tips.  I will teach my children about this great community and find ways to let them experience this army (researchers, physicians, parents, chefs, retailers, bakers, etc.) that are out there to help improve the quality of their life.
[/unordered_list] I am seeking Van Gogh quote
This is one my favorite quotes.  The necklace on the page was a wedding gift what held wishes for my new life.  This year, I was blessed to pass it along to a close family friend as he married the love of his life.

Hello 2014!  I’m not promising weight loss or more gym time, I’m going to change my energy and then enjoy the gym and more green veggies while you thrust me in new adventures.

Nutrimom, I just realized I seem like an alcoholic with the photo of champagne class next to the words life changing! Egads! Although, I do love a good glass of wine.

At this time it sounds like Drupal is the best
blogging platform available right now. (from what I’ve read)
Is that what you’re using on your blog?
