There are just a few things I can’t stomach and this one …..

Special note: I apologize now for today’ unbridled sarcasm–I just can’t let this one go by without a good old fashioned dose of sarcasm.
This is wrong on two levels:
[ordered_list style=”decimal”]
- A child legally being able to smoke…oh wait, we allow that here in the US too (sometimes my sarcasm can’t be held in and this is just one of those times).
- The mother can’t say no and be in control? How is this boy going to grow up? Oh wait, (brace yourself here it comes that sarcasm again), since he started smoking at 4 years old, he probably won’t! AHHHHH!
This is just wrong.
It is wrong that the same law that allows him to smoke is in place here in the United States. I think it disturbs me to see a child, not having the ability to understand his future or lack of future make a bad choice.
Read “Eight Year Old Indonesian Boy Smokes Two Packs of Cigarettes a Day” from The Telegraph to get the complete story.
Geez.

One of the hardest things I find about managing both life threatening food allergies and asthma is talking to others. I hate to be the one that might be perceived as demanding, pushing or for asking too much. What I now know, fourteen years later, is that honest, clear information presented with kindness works!..
sadly, we cannot mandate parenting in the US.
