Food Allergy Mamas are wonder women who bake at midnight, call food manufacturer’s regularly, find big deep confident voices in places they never existed and work day and night to keep their food allergic family safe and sound. Yet, I can guarantee you that this Valentine’s Day, these incredible women, who are the family’s health CEO’s, have forgotten their name on the Valentine’s Day card or gift list. I’m sure there will be lots of hugs and kisses from children…BUT, as women moving mountains we sometimes forget to love on ourselves. Therefore, I am declaring my own private Valentine’s Day to celebrate loving on ourselves and in that spirit, I invite you too to simple pause and love on yourself just a pinch on Valentine’s Day. I predict I will feel more inspired and invigorated.
Going to have some gratitude for myself
How?
I plan on doing something for myself that says, I am loving on myself today. Here are some ideas that sounds interesting to me… Do you have some ideas too?
- Going to Barnes and Noble and buying a magazine that is flat out fun and it does not have to contain one ounce of practical! I’m thinking, InStyle, Real Simple, a jewelry making magazine or even People Magazine.
- Sitting down with a cup of coffee and a chocolate bar while I listen to my favorite song.
- Getting my nails done–they need help right now–it’s not pretty.
- Going to Sephora and checking out all their darling little travel sized items.
- Calling my hubby and telling him I am shutting off my phone for 60 minutes and if school calls with a sick kid message, it’s his turn.
- Visiting the Coffee Bar, ordering a soy latte and vegan muffin while I sit and watch the world pass by.
- Enjoying a glass of fabulous Merlot!
- Making myself a new pair of earrings using Jade. I’m feeling the need for Jade these days.

I LOVE these ideas. Maybe we should get a few of us together and meet to do one or two of these on that day. Heart you!
