On Tuesday, I shared in my blog: True Confections of a Corn Dog Addiction that I was heading to the Reno Rodeo. Not only did I enjoy my corn dog at the Reno Rodeo on Tuesday night, I stayed within my Weight Watchers points too!!! I am feeling grateful for a fabulous group of ladies, a warm summer night and corn dogs at the Reno Rodeo. I love this group of women; not only did they address my need for corn dogs with full seriousness as they supported my quest to devour the quintessential Rodeo corn dog, they never even flinched when I bought a HUGE blingy cross necklace. These are the kind of gals who make the world go round.
The Rodeo was fabulous! The team roping was great and the Mutton Bustin adorable, but best of all, was not worrying about the peanut shells the lady behind me was tossing wildly as she ate a bag of peanuts. If my son was with me it would have been chaos. Hence why a girls night at the Reno Rodeo is a good thing. If haven’t seen it before, Mutton Bustin is a competition of little kids ages 5-7 who ride their own sheep until they roll off. The kids are small and literally roll off the sheep onto very soft dirt while wearing helmets. It’s a crack up and kids love it.
I love my children, but every now and then it is beautiful to just breathe out and have fun sans the food allergy/asthma hat. Of course, I still carried epinephrine. I can’t bring myself to leaving the house without it in my purse–even when the kids are not with me. I think I am channeling my inner most Boy Scout by always being prepared. I also had so much fun checking out all the food booths, even though I had eaten my beloved corn dog as soon we entered, shopping the booths and munching on kettle korn was just lovely.
Thanks again to a most fabulous group of ladies who have started a great tradition of ladies night at the Reno Rodeo! We’re on our third year now.
Happy Thursday!-Caroline
