New: Vegan Smooth Monkey Drink Recipe

You are here: Home / Glorious Food / New: Vegan Smooth Monkey Drink Recipe

October 5, 2012 By //  by Caroline Moassessi Leave a Comment

In honor of tomorrow’s Las Vegas Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network’s Walk for Food Allergy event, we (hubby as the mixer, me as the taster) decided to create a new Vegan, dairy, egg and nut free smoothie.  Of course, we are now slave to our little Magic Bullet and 9-year-old daughter.  The recipe is a winner!
At my Gratefulfoodie booth at the Walk, I will hand out coasters with the recipe printed on one side.  Come by and say hi!!!  The recipe calls for a nice assortment of fruit and Whole Soy & Co Vanilla yogurt and coconut milk (optional).

We added a few strawberries and the result was great.  The recipe is simple and basic and does well with experimentation.

I am writing this from the laptop I borrowed from my son, so when I get back to Reno, I’ll type up the recipe proper and add it to my recipe tab…but, until then here it is…

Smooth Monkey Food Allergy Friendly and Vegan Smoothie Recipe

Peanut free, tree nut free, dairy free, egg free and Vegan Smoothie drink

1/3 cup Whole Soy® Vanilla Yogurt
1 Banana
1/2 cup frozen mango chunks
1/3 cup crushed pineapple
1/2 cup guava juice
1/3 cup coconut milk (optional–if you are allergic to tree nuts, ask your physician if coconut is safe)
1 cup ice cubes or crushed ice
Directions
1.  Blend together Whole Soy Vanilla yogurt, mango chunks, pineapple, guava juice and coconut milk (if using) in food processor or blender.
2.  Add ice, blend to desired smoothness.

If you are attending the Las Vegas Walk please come by and say Hi and pick up your recipe!

Tools to consider for Eating Out

Eating out with Food Allergies can be quite challenging. For my family, we view eating out as a risk and we use a variety of tools to help us make educated choices.  Most importantly, if we get a gut feeling something isn’t right, we leave or my children don’t eat the item and we find safe options elsewhere...Eating out Tips - Know before you Go
