epi pens 4 schoolsSchool Solutions: Spread the word and never assume everyone knows about this program:  Free EpiPens® 4 Schools sponsored by Mylan, the makers of the EpiPen® epinephrine auto-injector.  I thought all of the schools in my state knew of this program and I recently learned they had not!  So, please share this information since most school districts these days can use the extra financial support!
Details. Basically, this program offers four free EpiPen® or EpiPen®Jr to qualifying public or private schools elementary, middle or high schools to. Note: the schools need to have a prescription for the EpiPen®.  Visit the website for details:Free EpiPens® 4 Schools to find videos, EpiLockers (a bright yellow container to store stock epinephrine) and downloads.
NOTE: also, there is currently a $0-Co-Pay Offer available at Epipen.com
This is another post in my series: School Solutions for Food Allergy and Asthma.  If you have other areas you would like to more resources shared, just comment below or shoot me an email: caroline@gratefulfoodie.com.
epi-saves-life-Andrue-300x169Disclaimer:  Mylan® did not pay me or ask me to write this post.  I personally want all qualifying schools to take advantage of the Free EpiPens® 4 Schools program.  It saved a life (actually several) here in Nevada and I hope it will save lives across the US.

Each state has different protocol regarding who is,authorized to write the prescription. It is best to speak to your district’s student health services or department in case of student to to ask who is writing the prescriptions. In my state, our school district orders the Epi pens for all of the schools. My son’s school is private, and our law allows any pediatrician or nurse practitioner to write the prescription.
