A new dawn has broken and our own Mary Vargas, food allergy parent, advocate, and lawyer will play a role in this lawsuit between a former employee and Panera. Stein and Vargas released this press release today, Panera Sued for Severe and Pervasive Discrimination. Allergic Living Magazine will be covering this breaking news online, so keep your eye on their website. Biased as I am (see below), Allergic Living looks at breaking news from all sides of the story. Therefore, it might be wise to keep pitchforks in the barn as we learn more about this lawsuit and how it might eventually affect you and I.
Until then….
I’m personally very proud of my friend Mary Vargas and her work fighting the good fight. Mary is one side of the powerhouse Allergy Law Project trio and will be a featured speaker this weekend at the Food Allergy Blogger Conference. I feel sadness and admiration for Dustin Maldonado, who is bringing forth this lawsuit. Sad, for his experience and journey as I applaud him for standing up for his rights to be treated properly. In the spirit of not making waves, people across this nation don’t speak up and I appreciate what Dustin is doing for all of us.
I look forward to watching this case unfold. Now for my disclaimer: I do work for Allergic Living Magazine and I biased beyond belief. I choose to align myself with them due to their staunch fact checking and rich investigation of topics.
