Love the Buzz…..Food Allergy Buzz I mean

You are here: Home / Food Allergy Lifestyle / Love the Buzz…..Food Allergy Buzz I mean

February 14, 2016 By //  by Caroline Moassessi 1 Comment

Have you visited one of my favorite food allergy Twitter and blog site yet? I thought I would share: it is called Food Allergy Buzz. My love this week is two fold: first, I am honored to host the next Living with Food Allergies Blog Carnival thanks toFood Allergy Buzz -see tomorrow’s blog for details. Second, I really liked the Epi Pen® Training posting last week. As one of our local food allergy and asthma support group leaders, this question always pops up: where can we find online sources regarding how to use an Epi Pen®?

In the past, Dey (now Mylan) used to offer a wonderful online video. Unfortunately, that link is no longer there and only downloadable information is available. If you are like me, I truly learn and absorb through visual tools. I guess the old saying of seeing is believing is true for me. On that vein, Mylan offers video links to How to Use an Epi Pen® from National Jewish Health plus an adorable and fabulous educational tool from Mylan. I found both videos currently the best online (free) Epi Pen® training videos available.

Mylan deserves big kudos for pulling together those resources!
Lastly, what I like is that Food Allergy Buzz is dedicated to helping our food allergy community live life to the fullest and that means they tirelessly review products and items of interest to us. A trend I am seeing on the internet these days is bloggers being paid to review and say nice things about a product. Food Allergy Buzz does not do that, they just seek out food products, shampoos or anything that we might need in the spirit of helping us all find solutions.

Watch for tomorrow’s blog about the upcoming Living with Food Allergies Blog Carnival!

Tools to consider for Eating Out

Eating out with Food Allergies can be quite challenging. For my family, we view eating out as a risk and we use a variety of tools to help us make educated choices.  Most importantly, if we get a gut feeling something isn’t right, we leave or my children don’t eat the item and we find safe options elsewhere...Eating out Tips - Know before you Go
