Let’s light up the darkness! Join the rest of the nation during the evenings of March 25th through March 27th to light up the evening with candles, glow sticks, flashlights or even lanterns to remember those lost to anaphylaxis. Their lives are saving people every day.
We will be brightening up the evening with candles, glow sticks, flashlights or even lanterns to remember those lost to anaphylaxis. Their lives are saving people every day. Love Remembers Day is a special event founded by Aleasa Word, food allergy coach, advocate and parent in response to ensuring we never forget and we keep the compassion growing.
It is the stories of those lost that I share when speaking to legislators, decision makers, and other parents. Without them, our needs seem far-fetched to many. Their realities bring this invisible disease to life and inspire others to listen and work to never let this happen again.
I believe we should never forget and always honor their lives and be grateful for their amazing families who work hard to advocate and educate to save the lives of your family and mine. I know it is hard to read these stories of beautiful people leaving the earth too soon. I cry each time I read the stories and then continue to cry and say prayers for their families endlessly. I find inspiration to do the good work, go the extra mile when I am tired or frustrated when I think of those we lost. For me, little Ammaria’s story struck a nerve so deep and strong that I can not forget and she is an inspiration to keep fighting the right fight.
I hope you will join me this upcoming weekend to honor those lost and to find inspiration to educate and advocate so that these stories become rare.
How will you Ignite the Night?
