Kyle Dine Benificiary to new Anaphyalxis HQ

You are here: Home / Educaton / Kyle Dine Benificiary to new Anaphyalxis HQ

January 14, 2014 By //  by Caroline Moassessi 1 Comment

There has been so much movement within the short few weeks of this New Year, 2014 in our food allergy world!  I’ve watched new bloggers join our merry group (welcome NutFreeWok), The Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Connection Team launch as an education and advocacy force and now, Jodie Hommer of Team Anaphylaxis has launched Anaphylaxis HQ™ and announced that Kyle Dine will be the 2014 beneficiary!  In case you haven’t seen the website yet, Anaphylaxis HQ™ is new free online resource that plans on reaching out to hospitals and clinics nationwide.  Per Anaphylaxis HQ™’s FAQ page, their goal is to provide a guide with a wide range of food allergy and anaphylaxis resources for the newly diagnosed and health care folks.

Jodie explained that there is a gap right now from when a person receives diagnosis and finding a support group and information about food anaphylaxis.  I can attest to that.   For my son’s diagnosis, we received a well wish, a prescription and when I asked if there were any groups or organizations I was told no.  When I finally found a support group in another city and an allergist who was willing to educate us, we actually moved cities temporarily.

How does Kyle Dine benefit from Anaphylaxis HQ™?  To be listed, support groups and bloggers pay a special rate and all others pay a business rate annually.  Those fees cover costs and then a portion of the money raised will be donated to Kyle Dine to further his music as the world’s only food allergy musician and educator.  We had the gift of Kyle Dine‘s performance last year here in Reno.  Tahoe Supply Company kindly covered the costs and he was able to perform for our local support group.  He used song and positive messages to empower children with food allergies while educating their friends.  Kyle has earned the support of many worldwide.

Congratulations Anaphylaxis HQ™ and Kyle Dine!

This is a generous idea and Kyle Dine is a worthy beneficiary. Will there be multiple beneficiaries throughout the year? Or just one per year? Just curious…

Tools to consider for Eating Out

Eating out with Food Allergies can be quite challenging. For my family, we view eating out as a risk and we use a variety of tools to help us make educated choices.  Most importantly, if we get a gut feeling something isn’t right, we leave or my children don’t eat the item and we find safe options elsewhere...Eating out Tips - Know before you Go
