I’ve been having fun sticking up Valentine’s Day notes on my kid’s doors every night. I cut out hears and then write what I LOVE about them. Now it is time for my love of sweets and hearts to unleash! My kids can not get enough of what they call the Gimbal’s LOVE! They are going to be the happy recipients of Gimbal’s Find Candies (I just love their name) and Vermont Nut Free Chocolates. Of course, I’m baking chocolate heart cakes for Valentine’s Day too-I just can’t help myself.
This year is exceptionally special since my son is no longer allergic to dairy. I had ordered candy from Peanut Free Planet only to receive a text thanking me for the great candy delivered while I was out. The box arrived and the kids opened the box! Valentine’s Day Plan A was foiled. Plan B is a traditional heart-shaped box from Vermont Nut Free. I had warned anyone opening any of my packages would have evil spells cast upon them. Thankfully, the fear of curses and mom worked and my package remained untouched at the front door!
Note: I was not paid to write about these candies! Gimbal’s sent me samples to taste which equated into a fight over who gets to eat them first in my house. They did not ask me to write anything nice about them too. Just sharing some Valentine’s Day ideas with you!
The Gimbal’s Love (available in many grocery stores) included:
- Cherry Lovers–this bag has nine different cherry flavors! The flavors are deep, rich and we play a game of trying to guess the flavors. I always win–ha!
- Sour Lovers — these are the hard-core pucker up types with that lovely sugar-coating. I love the Meyer Lemon candy, but have to cut my self off before I eat the bag.
- Cinnamon Lovers — these remind of that scene from Lion King when one hyenas speaks the name Mufasa and the other says that when he just hears that name shutters, then he asks his pal to say the name again, “do it again” he shouts. These little cinnamon hearts are not to be taken lightly! They are strong! I popped three into my mouth and they exploded with hot cinnamon flavor. I had a cold, so of course, I coughed and then dove right back in for more! My son was in disbelief that I could not stop eating these–coughing and all. These are a dream for cinnamon lovers!
I can’t wait for the kids to pop open their Valentine’s Day gifts! The chocolate hearts will be precious and I know the Gimbals will be home run hits–especially the Sour Lovers!

Hi Caroline Moassessi what did you do. In order to make your son’s allergic to dairy disappeared?
Caroline Moassessi
I don’t think I did anything to be honest. The allergist told me when my son was first diagnosed that the odds were very high that he will out grown his dairy allergy by the age of 16. That held true—it was very late in life when he out grew it. We are just so thankful he did!
