Happy Birthday EpiPen!

You are here: Home / EPI / Happy Birthday EpiPen!

Happy 25th Birthday EpiPen® epinephrine Auto-injector!  Okay, I had hoped to bake you a cake and eat it selfishly, but there is a nasty heat wave out West right now and I’m avoiding the oven at all costs.  In celebration of your 25 years of providing many of us with life saving epinephrine, of which we have been enjoying for the last 13 years-I just want to say thank you.  It’s not often I speak directly to an object, but I am grateful for my children’s EpiPen®  Auto-injector.   My son has been carrying two EpiPen®  Auto-injector for almost 13 years.  I too have been carrying two doses as well, as back up and even when I am traveling without my EpiPen®  Auto-injector slinging children, I feel so awkward, that I continue to carry at least one dose for God only knows who.

Show Us Your EpiPens™ Program

EpiPen®  Auto-injector are pretty much like my driver’s license, I never leave home without it.  In honor of the 25 year celebration, EpiPen®  Auto-injector® Specialty, has created an interesting program, “Show Us Your EpiPens™.  Folks like you and me are invited to share photos of themselves or loved ones carrying their EpiPen®  Auto-injector.

Break out your camera!

How to Participate, Generate Donations AND see yourself online!!

People can visit Nanny, Jo Frost to Show Us Your EpiPensTM by uploading a photo of yourself or your loved ones (with their permission of course) with their EpiPen®  Auto-injector.

  • For every photo submission, EpiPen®  Auto-injector® Specialty will donate $25 to leading allergy non-profit groups up to a total of $25,000. In addition, approved submissions will be featured in an online mosaic and people can choose to receive an exclusive copy of the EpiPen® Show and Tell magazine, featuring original photos, personal tips and more from Adrian and Jo (participation requires a valid prescription).

Two celebrities, Nanny, Jo Frost and pro football player Adrian Peterson are spokespeople working to spread 25 very good and solid Anaphylaxis MISCONCEPTIONS.  I LOVED the Anaphylaxis MISCONCEPTIONS page simply for the education value it brings and that I can easily share it with family and friends.  One of my favorite misconceptions:  “School Personnel are always aware of which individuals are at risk for a life threatening food allergic reaction (anaphyalxis).

Happy Birthday Life Saving EpiPen®  Auto-injector!  I was hoping to find an old, old picture of you from 25 years ago, but I am unsuccessful.  If anyone has one, can you post it?
