Glorious Friendship

You are here: Home / Food Allergy Lifestyle / Glorious Friendship

October 29, 2012 By //  by Caroline Moassessi 1 Comment

Today’s post is late and a tad off topic since I enjoyed a fabulous Saturday night back in the Bay Area celebrating a childhood friend’s 50th birthday party and I am now just sitting down at the computer.  Our little group of “girls” flew and drove  in from all over the Country to celebrate and enjoy our friendship that has never ended.  I was simply in awe that after all these years, of not seeing each other face to face, but staying connected through Vila Cereja, email and texting, we picked back up as if no time had slipped by.

I snuck a party favor home!

The conversation had never ended over the years and only continued into the wee hours of Sunday morning.  The best part:  we had a sleep over, snoozing on couches, air beds (no more floors for these old bones) and any spot we could find!  Our goal was to simply be together, celebrate and feel all the goodness that life has brought us over the many decades.
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WCxvwcgrK0] Life had changed as we moved to new places, have children, some divorced and finding new love, some facing serious health issues, some survivors and some of back in college!  The common thread of friendship was still perfectly woven and we remain connected through change.  I’m just glowing today as I wrap myself around the beauty of friendship that I sometimes forget when I’m razor focuses on my kid’s their schedules, their health and life.

I learned that I need to carve out time to stay connected to those perfect, non-judgemental and loving friendships that are based on unconditional love.  These are gold.
Thanks Vila Cerejafor creating a path for our friendships to travel upon and for one amazing fabulous party, evening and a groggy Sunday morning brunch (Lenore–your cooking was amazing) !  Happy Birthday Girl!

p.s. Vila Cereja is an amazing Latin/Jazz/Salsa Singer–needless to say a party full of musicians and singers was off the hook!  The party was in a private room at Vila Cereja in San Leandro where we enjoyed live music (clearly), dancing, fabulous food and service.  I highly suggest this hip and tasty restaurant!

Tools to consider for Eating Out

Eating out with Food Allergies can be quite challenging. For my family, we view eating out as a risk and we use a variety of tools to help us make educated choices.  Most importantly, if we get a gut feeling something isn’t right, we leave or my children don’t eat the item and we find safe options elsewhere...Eating out Tips - Know before you Go
