FREE: Food Allergy Accomodations Webinar (504 IHCP plans)

You are here: Home / Advocacy / FREE: Food Allergy Accomodations Webinar (504 IHCP plans)

January 10, 2014 By //  by Caroline Moassessi 2 Comments

If you have school aged children with food allergies, then you might find this upcoming  “504 Plans and Individual Health Care Plans (IHCP)” Webinar, Tuesday, Janauary 14,2014 at 7pm EST (or 4pm PST for us West Coast Types) very helpful.  Do you know what the difference between a 504 Plan and IHCP is and when you need one?  In our community, we’ll chat about 504 plans and ask each other to share their knowledge, but this webinar is a rare opportunity to learn from a well known and respected lawyer, who specializes in 504 plans — specifically food allergy 504 plans!
…what ever you agree to, have it in writing, without it confusion ensues.
My sister from another mother, Laurel Francouer, ESQ, co-founder of Green Laurel Documents,  will be presenting along side the highly respected Lynda Mitchell, Founder of the largest online food allergy parent support group, Kids with Food Allergies-a Division of the Allergy and Asthma Foundation of America (AAFA).  These ladies have street cred along with  CV’s that will make you cry–they are that knowledgeable.  Clearly, I’m biased and have much respect for both.  Laurel is a friend and someone whose knowledge of the law and food allergies is impressive and Lynda has been a leader in our food allergy world for as long as I can remember (I’m trying to not date her age here).

This could be a very valuable hour of 504 and IHCP plan education that will help you advocate for your child’s food allergies at school better!

Disclaimer:  in the spirit of sharing information, I wanted you to know about this upcoming webinar, I was not paid to post this information or to write positive things about the presenters or webinar.  As always, before you make any changes to your diet, health plans or protocol in managing you or your child’s food allergies, speak to a professional.
