Found it: Dairy Free (nutfree) Easter Candy!

You are here: Home / Asthma - News / Found it: Dairy Free (nutfree) Easter Candy!

March 4, 2015 By //  by Caroline Moassessi 1 Comment

Gimbals jelly beansEven though my son has offically outgrown dairy, we are currrently discovering some milk chocolates bother him and give him an itchy mouth and swells his lips very slightly.  This used to happen when he was preschool aged with non-organic fruit.  Needless to say, our interest has been piqued and we are looking into this.  Until we find answers I thought I would share my dairy free Easter Candy finds so far!

Dairy Free Easter Candy (please add your favorites below too–so we can all share together)

Note: when I state no nuts, I am referring to no peanuts or tree nuts.
  • Premium Chocolatiers- No dairy, nuts, egg, or gluten–the even sell Bunny’s in Boxes.  I know that sounds trivial, but my kids think they are hot stuff when they look “mainstream”.
  • Divvies – No dairy, nuts or egg–they now offer a corporate gift program!  You’ll find cookies, candy (beware of the Benjamint bars-I’m slave to those), popcorn (my addiction) and cupcakes (these arrive in a gorgeous box/kit to ice your own).
  • Amanda’s Own – No dairy, nuts, egg or gluten.  These were the very first chocolate Easter bunnies my children ever ate! PASSOVER Chocolates can be found here too!
  • Surf Sweets – No dairy, nuts, eggs, soy, gluten, food dyes, GMO or additivies.  My kids love these organic jelly beans and there is a full on fight (in my house) over the peach rings.
  • Indie Candy – No dairy, nuts, egg, soy, gluten, sesame, fish and shellfish (phew), artificial flavors or colors.  The lollipops are flat out adorable!
  • Yummy Earth – No dairy, nuts, egg, soy, gluten and are Kosher and mostly organic.  I channel my grandmother and carry their Lollipops in my purse.  She used to carry Life Savers, so I am feeling grown up with my pomegranite flavored lolli.  I use the worms in cupcakes for that added gross factor and applaud their rich flavors and purchasing options (bulk).
  • Gimbal’s Fine Candies – No dairy, nuts, egg, soy, gluten and are Kosher.  The flavors are wickedly strong (in the good way) and we mix and match them to create new tastes for fun (I like mixing Pina Colada with Green Apple).  Ya, I know.  We need a life, but it’s fun and my family can’t help ourselves. Sour Gourmet Jelly Beans are my son’s favorites while I like them all!
  • Peeps – Maybe no dairy, gluten and nuts? We need to chat peeps since some of their products contain dairy, may contain dairy and are gluten free.  In the past there was not a may contain dairy warning.  Therefore, your best bet is to call up the manufacturere with product in hand to ask your manufacturing questions.

Happy Easter Planning!  Please add any of your favorites below and will continue to update this list.

Disclaimer: I do not represent any of the companies featured nor was I asked to write about them.  They are (hopefully) reading this alongside you today for the first time.  My purpose is to share things that you might fight helpful, or not, on your allergen journey!  I’m just sharing some of my favorite things.

Wonderful, thanks Caroline! I’m glad you posted this well ahead of Easter to give time to order items online and check for personal comfort levels as well.
