Best Ever: Vegan, Nut Free Peppermint Cookies

You are here: Home / Recipes / Desserts / Best Ever: Vegan, Nut Free Peppermint Cookies

December 18, 2012 By //  by Caroline Moassessi 1 Comment

Reader warning: you truly may become addicted to these cookies and only bake if you are ready to be slave to a cookie. What I love the most about these cookies is that they egg free, dairy free, peanut free, tree nut free and seed free!  All of my favorite free items with my most beloved Christmas treat: the Candy Cane.  My non-food allergic friends tell me these cookies might as well be like crack…they just can’t get enough of them!  In the spirit of food allergen savvy cookie addiction..here is the recipe:  Peppermint Vegan Cookies Recipe -Food Allergy Style!

Now to make these hard core, true Vegan, you should follow your shopping protocol of using Vegan sugar, etc.  For my food allergy buddies, I use Earth Balance Buttery Spread (non-dair and natural cane sugar.
The recipe was created by son, so I can’t take an ounce of credit.  He took our basic egg, dairy and nut free chocolate chip cookie recipe and replaced it with crushed Spangler candy canes for his (and his pal Kienan) Food Stand to raise funds for the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.  It was only created last Thursday night, so it is fresh as can be!  I hope you enjoy it too.
