Happy Valentine’s Day!!! Nothing says love like Vegan Chili and a Food Allergy e-card! Last night I made a nice huge pot of Vegan, nut free, gluten free and flat-out tasty Eggplant Chili as my way of saying, “we love you” to the teachers at my daughter’s school. My son’s school will enjoy their turn of food allergy friendly love at the end of the week. The recipe is super, super easy and from my pal Luann’s family. Luann is my food allergy “sister”, she’s my go to girl and back-up for any sort of food allergy emergency and thankfully she shared this fabulous recipe that works with well with our food allergies.

Since we’re still talking Valentine Love here, while the Eggplant chili cooked (one hour) I made two Valentine’s! One for my God daughter (shhh…don’t tell her, I can’t bring it to her until after school) and one for my bathroom. They were SOOOOOO easy it was insane! All I did was draw a heart with pen on old fabric, glued the fabric to a disposable bamboo plate for one and the other to glass from a picture frame and then glued buttons randomly inside the heart!
Materials:
[unordered_list style=”star”]- Old thrift store curtains
- glue gun and glue
- giant bag of buttons that I’ve been collecting my whole life
- disposable plate or…
- picture frame
How to make the button Valentine…
[ordered_list style=”decimal”]- Using glue gun, glue fabric to back of square or rectangle shaped plate or glass from a picture frame. Round shapes do not glue as easy.
- Draw heart on fabric, I used a pen, but a pencil would probably be a better choice!
- Start gluing larger buttons within the heart first and then add in smaller buttons to make the hearts look fuller
- If using picture frame, replace glass into frame!
- If using disposable plate, then add a picture hook to the back and hang. I’m propping mine up against my bathroom mirror.
I hope you are enjoying your loved ones in your own special way today!
Happy Valentine’s Day-Caroline
