For three days, Denver, CO hosted, from Canada and the US, food allergy and Celiac patients, care givers, vendors, physicians, innovators, cookbook authors, writers, manufacturers, speakers and even an eight week old baby. FABlogcon 2016, the brain child of food allergy advocate, Jenny Sprague, provided the path for connection, conversation, learning, singing and awareness. The event hosted one track for bloggers wanted to hone their skills and learn more about their industry While the second track offered patient support and education ranging from anaphylaxis/epinephrine information, EOE and even how to use marketing skills to win people over. The result was magical.
Attendees shared one powerful thread: we all wanted to make a difference. Be it in our own homes, schools, blogs or communities. We all honored and respected our different backgrounds, chosen paths and struggles to create an inspirational learning and sharing environment.
There were three highlights that continue to inspire me today.
- To be able to hug/talk to old friends and to meet those I admire or enjoying following on social media, is the food that feeds my soul. I appreciate the internet, but human connection, looking into the eyes of a friend or mentor is priceless. You just can’t have that connection via a screen.
- When the dance party kicked into full swing, I was moved by the realization of the number of young people attending and contributing to this event. They are the ones pushing us all to the next level. Not only did they bust-a-move, they brought hope for our future.
- One attendee summed it up best, she explained how friendly and down-to-earth this event was! She was able to learn, honestly share and find solutions. The energy was electric while creating a nurturing and positive path for education and awareness.
HUGE kudos to Jenny Sprague and her team for providing this opportunity for everyone to be under one roof sharing, talking, and learning.
There are no words strong enough to say, “hey Jenny, I know you can be doing other things in life, so I’m happy you chose my world to impact”.
Disclaimer: I was not paid to be a huge FABlogcon fan. I was honored to speak twice and to represent Allergic Living Magazine. Life is just darn good sometimes.

Well said Tracy, I always walk away with more information, and re-ignited. The world is good again.
