Times are hectic. Therefore, fast, easy, nut free, dairy free and egg free Valentine’s Day treats are welcomed with wide open arms. Last night, my son announced that he needs around 20 treats for his science class. My daughter’s class needs something for their nut free party tomorrow and I need to bring a tray of appetizers for an event tonight. So, the spirit of speed and quality food allergy safe foods…here is are game plan for Valentine’s Day…
- Science class treats: chocolate peanut free, tree nut free, dairy free (we use soy) and egg free (applesauce is our fav replacer) cake brownies cut into squares and placed into Valentine’s Day themed cups and picks from the Dollar Tree.
- Elementary School Party: heart shaped Cucumber slices. Heart shaped cookie cutters are well used in my household:
- Evening tray of appetizers: heart Shaped cucumber slices and little soy cream and olive sandwiches.
- Lunch bonus: I found at Winco last night a darling heart-shaped cutter with a sandwich box for only $2.95!
I like cutting out heart-shaped sandwiches for my daughter since she still enjoys that, but I only do for my son when I can sneak one into his lunch to embarrass him. They both make their own lunches, so I have to wiggle my way into lunch boxes!
Please share any tips you might have for food allergy friendly and easy Valentine’s Day recipes or treats!
Shopping: Wilton 7-Piece Metal Heart Cookie Cutter Set I also use Wilton Comfort Grip Heart Cutter since this cutter is larger and can go through chicken and other heartier sandwiches.
