You are here: Home / Asthma - News / Contest Fun! Win Year Supply of Lysol Air Filters

February 10, 2014 By //  by Caroline Moassessi 4 Comments

I love a good contest and Lysol® offered me this fun opportunity for my readers:  Win a year’s supply of Lysol® Air Filters for your HVAC system. To enter you will need to LIKE and SHARE Lysol® Air Filters on Facebook to be entered to win a ONE YEAR SUPPLY OF LYSOL® AIR FILTERS.  The contest will run from today, Monday, February 10th through Friday, February 14th, 2014-another way to love on your family by keeping their air clean.  UPDATE:  These filters are certified Asthma Friendly by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA).  They have passed AAFA’s air cleaner standards.

As many of you might know, we deal with dust, mold and pollen allergy issues along with my kid’s having asthma.  Air filters are a sacred commodity in these parts.  We use portable air filters that I move around from room to room to deal with pollens, dust and sand from the roads.  We faithfully change our or HVAC filters quarterly or every two months dependent on environmental influences.   Since we enjoy snow in Reno, the sand that is spread out to help with ice ends up creating dust and aggravating my family’s asthma.  Also, my beloved elderly neighbor only has a fire-place as his heat source and whatever he burns just gives my lungs a hard time, so I use my filters year round.

Good luck with the contest and even if your aren’t interested in entering, do pause for a moment and think about how you keep your indoor air clean!

      Kathryn,
Yikes! Ya, this would not be a good idea for your allergies! Do you use portable filters? How do you keep the particulates out of your house?

Hi Kathryn, the Lysol Air Filters actually REMOVE odors from the air. These filters are completely unscented and are infused with activated carbon to remove odors and molecular contaminants in the air that regular pleated filters could not. These filters also feature a natural antimicrobial to trap harmful bacteria. The result is fresher, cleaner, air.

Thanks Lysol! I was actually just pulling data from the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America’s website since these filters are certified as asthma friendly. Although, there are several folks who are highly sensitive to everyday items in our allergy asthma world, so as much information as you can share is great! I’m updating this post too with more information right now!

Tools to consider for Eating Out

Eating out with Food Allergies can be quite challenging. For my family, we view eating out as a risk and we use a variety of tools to help us make educated choices.  Most importantly, if we get a gut feeling something isn’t right, we leave or my children don’t eat the item and we find safe options elsewhere...Eating out Tips - Know before you Go
