Calling All Food Allergy Foodies!

You are here: Home / Eating Out / Calling All Food Allergy Foodies!

January 31, 2014 By //  by Caroline Moassessi 5 Comments

I stumbled upon Lucy’s Friendly Foods website a while back and am now a confirmed follower.  Her recipes focus on dairy free, egg free, nut free and sesame seed free (all my favorite  food allergy free ingredients).  She is a Cordon Bleu trained chef with photos that make me want to cry they are so beautiful.  This is the kind of blog that touches my foodie soul deep:  the food is gorgeous, interesting and  meets my family’s allergen needs perfectly.  All her recipes are original and divine.

Even though she lives overseas and some of the measurements and oven temps use metric.  I can figure them out.  I like to use a scale and metric to bake whenever possible, so I simply read the “other” side of my measuring cup!  I also use a scale to bake with so I whip that out too and simply use the metric option.  I prefer metric baking and the use of a scale–been this way for years!   This website, Online Conversion, converts Gas Mark and Celsius oven temps to our Fahrenheit system here in the United States.  I also enjoy her recipes since I’m inspired by peeking into the kitchen that exists in another country, so from a culinary perspective, there are new and exciting options.

I like to grab a cup of coffee and just explore her various categories, such as Puddings/Desserts, Almost French Patesserie and Vegetarian Entrees.  I pretend I’m in Europe smelling beautiful aromas wafting from Lucy’s kitchen.

I hope you enjoy poking around Lucy’s Friendly Foods website as much as I do!

special note: Lucy did not pay or ask me to write about her blog, her site is simply one of my favorite spots to visit when I am seeking inspiration!

I have been following this blog for some time. My food allergies are so different but I have looked at them with the idea of adapting them to suit my needs/

Hi Caroline! This is one of my favorite blogs for allergy-friendly recipes. I just made her panettone recipe for xmas. Her recent bagel recipe looks great too — thanks for reminding me I need to try it! 🙂 Hope all is well, Heddi

Heddi, I just love HER! I missed the bagel recipe—I’ll have to check it out. I like the challenge, although it’s so insanely easy of converting some of the measurements. Hope all is well in Switzerland!
