I talk quite a bit about kids on this website since my life’s priority right now is raising two of them. BUT, one is about to enter the beginning stages of adulthood (he is seventeen, but the teen brain doesn’t finish developing until 24 years of age) and join the ranks of food allergic adults. Tomorrow, our own Gwen Smith, editor and co-owner of Allergic Living Magazine will be presenting, “Adult Onset Food Allergies”, via the free and much-appreciated food allergy Webinar series presented by Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE).
Sign up for: Adult Onset Food Allergies presented by Gwen Smith.
Wednesday, January 20th, 1pm ET
Gwen will not only discuss her personal experience, she will touch on points such as missing symptoms as busy adults and she’ll report on research about adult onset allergies. I’ve witnessed several of my friends develop their allergies as adults and am curious about frequency of adult diagnosis.
My interested is also around what my son will be addressing in less than one year as he ventures into life post high school. What challenges will he face and how should I position myself to be of support? My goal is to raise a self-sufficient young man, who just happens to have food allergies. I just don’t know what that fully looks like. I’m just purely guessing right now.
Hope you join me and many others tomorrow at the Websinar!
disclaimer: I’m so biased it is not even funny. I’ve been an Allergic Living fan for years, then a Gwen Smith fan and now I do work for Allergic Living as their Product Feature editor. There is no hope for me here. My hope for you though, is that you tune into the webinar as we all learn together.
