A smokers Journey continues Part 4

You are here: Home / Research / A smokers Journey continues Part 4

February 8, 2012 By //  by Caroline Moassessi Leave a Comment

If you have been following, Leticia has been sharing her life’s story and how a simple cigarette smoked when she was 12 years old became the entry drug to bigger and scarier things.  Quite honestly, I’m scared!  Wow, her story is rough and I only receive her posts right before you do.  She is the sister of an old childhood friend.  I have to say, I feel quite ignorant in not realizing all of this was going on, but we were off to college and the universe revolved around our youth.  Right now, Leticia is squarely into her 2nd month of not smoking and enjoying a new life.  I am anxious to see how her story turns.
Warning: the content of this story is not suitable for children!  This topic and content are not appropriate for young readers.
In case you missed her three other blogs:  Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3
black and white spiral of a girl out of control with smoking, drugs and drinkingMy Journey In A Life Of Smoking ….
Well, now you see how the evil forces can just step in your life and steal it away.  You might say, “no that is not true it was your choice .”  Right?  Well you see, it was my choice, but to have a choice when you have to have something from which to compare to make a decision.  From something good or bad and if a temptation was put in your path it can be a distraction.  The question is who and what put that distraction there for you to trip over?  So continuing on I came to find out my husband is cheating on me.   I happened to find out through “Sandy” that Antonio was seeing one of my other closest friends “DeeDee” who just happened to be what they call in catholic religion “My God Sister.”  This is the person you chose for your catholic confirmation to be a spiritual family member to you.  So she was more to me than just a close friend .
“Sandy” told me they had been seeing each other at his work when he worked the graveyard shift, and they would talk a lot over the phone when he was working.  So now at this point I was so sick and upset.  But mostly hurt beyond belief.  I really did not see that one coming!  I was stewing on it smoking cigarette after cigarette !  Day’s would come and days would go and still I said nothing . Smoking more, drinking and doing drugs more!  Well we had a party at our house and yes “Dee Dee” was there .  I went to do something in the other room as we were all partying and listening to music in the living room and when I returned I found that ‘DeeDee” was dancing around my husband in a mini skirt she had on and lifting it above her knees higher and higher!  Well I asked her what  she  was doing?  Then I snatched her by the hair and told her she had to get out of my house!  So I opened that front door and through her out to the curb told her never to come back ever!  And what do you think my husband said to me?  Hahaha!  He said ” Why did you do that?  She was just playing around it was no big deal!”  Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!   So let me tell you what took place after ….nothing!
You see the most dangerous thing for a man is a woman hurt and stewing and stewing on that hurt!  So I decided to light up a cigarette and smoke and smoke and smoke some more and do more drugs and drink! Well this is where me and the cigarettes were becoming closer and closer friends and the drugs as well. Drinking would come and go into my life back and forth it wasn’t as close to me as the cigarettes and the drugs were to me. So now later on we moved from our beautiful home for a reason I can not even remember and we moved into a apartment few blocks away.  Now there is one thing I forgot to mention through all this time we were married we had a collection of guns, we had 30/30 Winchesters and some double barrel shot guns, some Muskets and some from World War 2 … anyway my husband taught me to shoot when we were first got together and we practiced a lot. We went to shooting ranges and I got ree-ally good at it!!!
I was really good at shooting moving targets dead on and from a 100 yards away!  So now when we moved and settled in things were quiet. My husband went to work during the day one day and “Sandy “called me and as were talking she mentioned to me if I had ever confronted Antonio yet about that situation with “DeeDee”.  I said no not yet, she said they were still seeing each other and told me they were visiting one another all this time at his job. I told her “well then.. I think it was time for me to confront him .” So we hung up the phone and I cooked and cleaned and loaded a riffle… and waited. So finally my husband came home.
He was welcomed with open arms and a nice meal and then I asked him to sit down …and told him I wanted to talk.  So he sat and I talked.  I asked him if he was having an affair he said “no” and he said ” why are you asking me such a question?”  Then I told him I knew he was.  He was a little worried and I saw it on his face at this point I was pacing and I drifted into the other room and came back with a loaded riffle pointed right at him.  He jumped up and screamed “what are you doing?!!!” And I asked him again” are you having an affair on me?”  He stuttered his words “y…e…s !” I said “I know…with DeeDee Right?  He said “yes !”  I then told him to go to the bathroom in the hall way and get on his knees and beg for his life and pray!!!
He did! I told him to beg for a complete 5 min.  He did! “please don’t kill me!” over and over!  Then all we heard was a shot!  The bullet hit the bathroom door and missed him in the side on the neck!  Then all I heard was glass breaking, and saw feet flying through the bedroom window! I laughed my ass off!  ’cause you see we both knew if I wanted to kill him I could have but chose to scare him instead! It was funny, the stress just began to fall off me… and I was feeling some peace .
