A food allergic Christmas: Nut free, dairy free, egg free stocking stuffers that Santa loves!

You are here: Home / Food Allergy Lifestyle / A food allergic Christmas: Nut free, dairy free, egg free stocking stuffers that Santa loves!

That Santa guy can be quite cool and food allergen savvy!   Now, in our world, food allergy savvy means no peanuts, tree nuts, dairy or sesame seeds.  Although, we spent many, many years avoiding egg that we now prefer so many foods that are Vegan.  We are sort of like accidental Vegans.  Never consciously meant to be Vegan but somehow ended up there enjoying every bit of it!  Never-the-less, Santa is always very careful about the special treats that leaves in our stockings hung over the fireplace.    As always, we are only interested in sweets from dedicated lines and factories–no one wants to take risks on Christmas morning!

This year, we are all hoping for some of our favorites in the form of sweets….there are many, many more that we love and tomorrow I will blog about our favorite companies we love to buy our special gifts from!  These are the down and dirty treats that I can easily find local at stores like Wal-Mart, Michaels, Michaels, etc.

  • Smart and Final–we feel like we are laughing in danger’s face when we openly and freely eat these items shaped like peanuts.
  • Spangler Circus Peanuts–online you-oh, I mean Santa can find candy cane wreaths, jumbo sticks, different flavors.
  • Spangler Candy Canes–even though my kids are older now, we still love those darling little pops sitting atop a roped loop instead of a stick, I guess we get nostalgic sometimes.
  • Smarties-you can find these at the grocery store or at Spanglers online.
  • Anything from Divvies–have even offer darling chocolate snowmen!
  • Anything from Yummy Earth–Organic lollipops, gummy bears and worms, etc.
  • Gimball’s Jelly Beans or Sours (believe it or not, WalMart has the best prices on these little gems).

Confession:  I ask Santa for those silly super sugary, full of dye Circus peanuts.  They are ridiculous and yet, I happily keep a bag hidden in my closet!

Tools to consider for Eating Out

Eating out with Food Allergies can be quite challenging. For my family, we view eating out as a risk and we use a variety of tools to help us make educated choices.  Most importantly, if we get a gut feeling something isn’t right, we leave or my children don’t eat the item and we find safe options elsewhere...Eating out Tips - Know before you Go
