Actually, the four snacks are simply one variation on a theme: Reindeer Chow….also known as Popcorn to the rest of the world! In a last minute grasp at creativity, I came up with Reindeer Chow for my daughter’s party at school today. The teacher emailed two days ago realizing they needed some help with the food for the party. I realized that popcorn can be presented in many different varieties to avoid allergens. So…Reindeer Chow was born! Affordable, easy, fast and most of all, unless corn is your allergen, popcorn is safe! My daughter created a sign, goofy names and we were off and running–literary–it’s been a wild week.
Reindeer Chow Varieties

Hot Tamales candy mixed into plain Popcorn
Mini Marshmallows and chocolate chips mixed into Plain Popcorn
Cheese flavor mixed sprinkled on Popcorn

Two recycled poster boards taped together at the top to create a hinge
Wrapping paper
Sign printed from computer
Four Dollar Tree Aluminum Roasting Pans
Four Dollar Tree Scoops
This was a fast, simple and fun way to pull together a school party that did indeed include food. Also, I don’t know what Reindeer food looks like, so we had plenty of room for being creative.
Stay safe and have some food allergy fun!
